| Laurence Julien,

Laurence is Chairman of the Noel Group
management team. Laurence has recently
retired as supervisory managing director from Logica
CMG plc.
Laurence graduated in Physics from Royal Holloway,
London University in 1969 where he subsequently
obtained a Ph.D in Experimental Physics. |
He
joined Logica in 1980 as an image processing consultant
and worked on Sonar Processing, Automatic Fingerprint
Recognition and Remote Sensing. In 1983 he was appointed
as manager of the Signal and Image Processing Division,
during this period he served on the Pattern Recognition
Committee of the Alvey programme and the Industry
Advisory board providing input to the British National
Space Centre.
Following a number of line management positions Laurence
was appointed to the Executive Committee of Logica Plc
in 1996 where he reported directly to Logica’s MD and CEO. Laurence’s responsibilities
embraced Logica’s International Lines of Business and he
has worked and lived in Europe. He served as a CBI
London Councillor from 1997 to 2001.
After
work on Logica’s merger with CMG Laurence left Logica in
June 2003 to pursue new career directions away from
direct line management.
Laurence maintains a continuing interest in the
evolution of the IT services industry against a
background of real and significant change particularly,
in the Financial Services sector. His other professional
interests centre on the challenges associated with
working with different cultures.

An experienced programme, project and business
manager, Andy has a proven track record in business
transformation and reorganisation, in IT development
and implementation and in delivery of mergers and
acquisitions.
His career includes 8 years with Mars, 4 years
with Deloitte, 4 years with OSI (Xansa) and 4 years
as IT Director in Barclays. |
He has a strong, disciplined approach to management
and a flair for spotting real business value, delivering
the change and driving out the benefits.
Andy has 16 years experience managing major business
and IT projects and programmes. He has a further 9 years
business management, business analysis, systems
development, testing, IT outsourcing and Programme
Office management. He has delivered ~ in the UK and
across Europe ~ business transformation, cost reduction,
organisational change, technology transition, regulatory
change, process and performance improvement, quality
management, test management and business contingency.
Andy is comfortable dealing with Senior Executives
and directing major programmes and equally comfortable
homing in on specific operational problems at the
coalface that need urgent attention. Added to his
stakeholder and supplier management experience, direct
management style and vast repertoire of programme
management techniques this enables Andy to mobilise and
deploy people rapidly, to balance the need for change
with the needs of the business today and still deliver
on time.

David has substantial business/IT consultancy and
business system implementation experience. He has
worked for the board and at executive level for a
wide range of blue-chip companies across a number of
sectors including retail financial services,
information providers, utilities, manufacturing and
the EC.
He has worked for a number of major companies,
systems houses and management consultancies
including Mars Group, Logica, PE, DMR, Coopers &
Lybrand/PwC and Charteris. |
IT assurance and performance improvement
underpins much of David’s work having held a variety of
audit, risk, security and quality management roles.
At PwC, on behalf of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB),
he set up and managed an eighteen month IT
assurance operation for their world-wide
Y2K programme, most notably conducting an
audit of SCB’s Hong Kong IT operation on
behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary
Authority. At DMR David developed an IT
review service (cost effectiveness /
performance improvement focus) that saved
clients over £22m – he conducted numerous
technical reviews of data centres. He has
reviewed aspects of IT security and wrote
the standard for technical auditing whilst
at Logica.
David also has extensive experience of all
stages of business system implementation
through his major roles in programme
management and programme offices. This
typically involves setting up steering
groups, programme planning and progress
reporting as well as setting up and
mobilising risk, issue and change
management. It frequently includes
requirements definition, package selection
and bespoke development.
He has extensive consultancy business
development and sales experience, recently
playing a lead role in securing over £9m
of business.

John has worked in the computer industry since 1968,
in System Development, Management, Consultancy and
as an Expert Witness. He has in-depth experience of
project management and consultancy for clients
including BP, NATO, MFI, the European Commission, HM
Customs and Excise, the BBC, Lloyds Bank, the Morgan
Bank and many other household names.
John is a committed networker. |
In 1981, he was a founding member of the Flint
Organization, one of the UK's oldest, and most reputable
networks of independent consultants. In recent years,
John has been closely involved in management and
strategic sourcing issues for a number of large
development programmes and has assisted in the
development of methodologies and techniques for
Programme Management. He has extensive experience of
systems procurement and requirements negotiation, and in
the assessment of costs, benefits and risks.

Martin is
an IT management consultant with 20 years'
experience ranging from developing IT strategies to
managing major business and IT change.
A certified PRINCE2 project manager,
Martin has ten years experience of managing projects
in the public sector and in the private sector in
the UK and Europe. |
He
recently established the Project
Governance for a two year project for the
Swiss Stock Exchange and set up the
Programme Office for Fujitsu to roll out
Oracle Financials across Europe. He has
managed Intranet projects for Telecom
Italia and an on-line Forex project for
the National Australia Bank.
Martin
has planned and project managed the roll
out of ITIL service management processes
for clients to improve the quality of
their IT services. He has planned and
implemented shared IT services for a high
street bank.
Martin has advised vendors
and customers on document management,
collaboration technologies, and knowledge
management strategies. Martin was Research
Principal at two major IT research
companies and developed and presented
acclaimed public reports on IT management,
and technology.
Martin specialises in the
banking sector and recently spent two
years with the Swiss Stock Exchange
implementing supervision and surveillance
systems. Martin has managed assignments in
the petrochemical, insurance, and
pharmaceutical industries. In the public
sector, he has consulted to a broad range
of Government departments including The
British Council, The Inland Revenue, and
The Department of the Environment.

Peter is an executive level chartered information
systems professional. For the last twenty years he
has been an executive IT director/CIO. He has worked
both within devolved IT groups reporting into
business units and in centralised IT organisations.
He has over thirty years experience in programme
and project management, application and technical
systems development, business analysis,
implementation, IT strategy, infrastructure
services, professional expert witness and management
consultancy.

Twenty years of his experience has been in the

industry starting in 1995 with his role as e-commerce
advisor to Standard Chartered Bank Group.
In a career characterised by the application of
technology to business problems he has a history of
delivering solutions. As Development Director for ICCH
he was responsible for delivery of trading and clearing
systems to a number of derivatives exchanges in Europe
and the Far East. Within HSBC he managed the
implementation of two multi bank clearing systems and
was MD of a consortium of banks that created a real time
retail payment system in Hong Kong. His early career was
spent in IBM, as a Systems Engineer, and Logica.
